Daniel Arroche advises financial institutions, fintechs and technology companies on the design and deployment of new financial products and business models, particularly in the fields of on-chain finance and artificial intelligence.

Co-founding Partner of d&a partners, Daniel advises on financial services regulation, with particular expertise in new products and business models driven by technological innovation.

He advises clients on the regulatory qualification, structuring and launch of new financial products, as well as on obtaining and extending regulatory authorisations and their interactions with supervisory authorities (AMF, ACPR, ESMA).

His practice notably covers:

– crypto-assets and the MiCA Regulation, including authorisations as crypto-asset service providers (CASPs), having previously assisted several dozen market participants with their registration as digital asset service providers (DASPs) under the former French regime;

– investment services and MiFID II, including the regulatory qualification of new financial products and services, investment firm authorisations, and issues relating to the advice and distribution of financial products, particularly for financial investment advisers (CIFs) and wealth management firms;

– on-chain finance, including the tokenisation of financial assets, stablecoins, DeFi protocols, and new infrastructures and distribution models for financial products;

– the emergence of agentic finance, where the use of artificial intelligence systems in the provision of financial services raises new questions regarding regulatory qualification, liability and licensing requirements.

A significant part of his practice involves business models for which the existing legal framework does not yet provide clear-cut answers. Where technology moves ahead of the law, he analyses the product architecture, identifies the relevant regulatory issues and assists clients in defining an appropriate legal and regulatory approach.

His approach to regulation is therefore closely connected to his clients’ products and business strategy, with a focus on providing practical support for bringing new products and services to market.

Before founding d&a partners, Daniel Arroche practised mergers and acquisitions at Davis Polk & Wardwell and subsequently private equity at Ayache.

A former member of Paris Europlace, where he contributed to working groups on the regulation of digital asset service providers, he is currently a member of the Association for the Development of Digital Assets (ADAN). He has also spoken as a guest lecturer and conference speaker at Sciences Po Paris, Paris II Panthéon-Assas University and ESSEC Business School.
